Mr. Marco Schiavottiello has been awarded the IET 2010 Dennis Hill Award for his work on “iCHEST: Development of a Web Application for Chest Radiography””The Dennis Hill Award recognises outstanding work in the field of healthcare technologies. It is awarded annually to a student on a taught MSc programme. This award is presented in memory of Professor Dennis Hill, a pioneering researcher and practitioner in many areas of endeavour, particularly in relation to anaesthesia and intensive care.The prize is awarded annually to the student on a taught MSc programme who has, during the past year, submitted the best MSc project dissertation in the general field of healthcare technologies and cognate subjects (including biomedical engineering and health informatics). KANTERON AMONG THE TOP 3 IN THE WORLD
According to an independent study by a technology consultant company undertaken for one of the largest hospital groups in North America, Kanteron Systems digital medical imaging solutions have been selected as one of the top 3 in the world.
According to Mr. Christopher Dunne, Beora Technologies’ Solutions Architect: “Beora Technologies has evaluated radiology technologies to make a report for the hospital group that hired us.
We discovered that Kanteron Systems’ solutions seem robust and dependable, finishing among the top 3. The criteria used were Functional Requirements, Technical Requirements, Company Profile, IT Processes (technical support and maintenance), as well as Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).”

Kanteron Systems has been selected by the European Union to participate in the Gateway Programme, a business mission designed to showcase the best European healthcare technologies to Japanese and Korean companies in September and November 2009.
40 companies from all over Europe (only 2 from Spain) have been selected to participate in this programme. Only 2 of them (Kanteron and another one) from the Healthcare Technology - Telemedicine sector.

Kanteron Systems’ CEO (Jorge Cortell) delivered today at the University of Málaga the plenary lecture of the annual TERENA (Trans-European Research and Education Networking Association) meeting, which theme for this year is “Virtuality into Reality”, where he introduced ARSOR, the first Augmented Reality in the Operating Room system in the world.
The act counted with Mrs. Adelaida de la Calle, University of Málaga Dean; Mr. Tomás de Miguel, Director of RedIRIS; and Mr. Konstantinos Glinos, from the European Commission.
The announcement caused a stir both in the medical and academic worlds. Media such as Diario Sur or Málaga Hoy covered the news.

Kanteron Systems was profiled as one of the 3 “success cases” of software companies in Valencia. Kanteron Systems’ CEO (Jorge Cortell) participated in the “Round table: Success models in software companies from Valencia” in the New Business Models in the Software Industry Seminar, within the Official Master Degree in Entrepreneurship and Management of Innovative and Tech-based Companies offered by the University of Valencia, at 18:30h. in the City Museum (Plaza Arzobispo 3, Valencia).
